What is Stronghold?
It is an evidence-informed program that combines counselors, marksmanship instructors, and public health experts to increase safety among Veterans and their families. The Stronghold Initiative is a one-day workshop designed to promote firearm safety and mental wellness among veterans. Hosted by the TBI Warrior® Foundation in partnership with Nardis Gun Range and Genesis Counseling, this program equips veterans with hands-on firearm safety training, professional mental health support, and a free gun safe to encourage secure firearm storage. The event will take place on September 19, 2025, at Nardis Gun Range in San Antonio, TX. Veterans may attend with either a live-in caregiver or a fellow veteran as a support partner (buddy system).
This is not just about education but interactive hands-on skills training for Veterans and Caregivers. While we aim to reduce the risk of harm, we also provide an opportunity for camaraderie and community building among the participants.
